What I Enjoyed at Outdoor School By: Michael

Did you have fun at outdoor school? I had a lot of fun at outdoor school. I
enjoyed hiking the most because we saw a lot of critters such as newts ,slugs,
and fungus. In the forest we hiked the challenge trail we went on branches
and streams of water. A lot of people were plenty tired so I had to help a lot
of people get to the top. We saw a Golden Waxey cap mushroom on the hike.
We had a lot of fun that day while hiking. The second thing I enjoyed doing
was the solo hike. It was fun in my opinion because we can observe everything
around us alone. We can find newts without everyone saying can I hold after
you. Newts paradise was cool because there were a lot of newts in the water. I
enjoyed seeing the newts swim in the pond.

The night hike was spectacular because we were going to hike in the night
without a flashlight so we could improve our night vision. At one point we
stopped and kite said to sit down. Then she told us a story. It went like this she
and four other people plus a tour guide went into a cave in Mexico. After she
hiked a long way I the cave they stopped on an island. They were under a whole
bunch of bats then she saw a glowing piece of rock on the island under the bats
and took a piece of it. When she had a party after she came back from Mexico
she said that the rock had been glowing so when she bit the rock it glowed like
she saw in the cave. Then her friend said I think we ate bat poo and that was
her story. Then she offered us a piece took one and then ate it.

Dear Michael,

I did have fun at outdoor school, but i did not enjoy it when I fell off the bed and woke up. :p I think the "bat poop" was actually light-up-life-savers.

Dear Michael,
I did have a lot of fun at Outdoor School I miss it.Newts are really cool to hold.Did you kiss a Banana Slug?I hate looking at fungus(gross). The night hike was so not cool.I was so scared that I was going to fall and die.The slopes were risky.I almost tripped but luckily my naturalist(Sassafras) helped me so I was saved. The only fun part about the night hike was playing a game. The story about your naturalist is part gross and part funny at the same time.My cabin leader was so nice.
Anyways,Nice Post:D

I enjoyed outdoor school as well. The challenge hike was not challenging for me because there were a lot of things to grab and pull yourself up ahead. My naturalist was chickadee(who's real name is Darcy). On the long hike, I counted 50 newts!! that sure is a lot of newts. On the night hike, chickadee also told us a story about that she was friends with Bigfoot. Then we had these special kind of Lifesavers that glow in the dark when you bite it, so it looks like your mouth has a white lightbulb inside.
I also liked the campfire songs like Gusano, Sandfellar, and Banana Slug. That is all for this week from "The Mountain!" see you next time on blog comments. Bye, Bye!!!
NICE BLOG, MICHAEL!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Michael,
I enjoyed Outdoor School too!!! The hikes were very enjoyable. Expecially the clubs like the Hard Core club and the Dirty Butt/Pants club. The night hike for me was okay because me and my group only went about 20 to 25 steps before we had to go back to our cabins. We got the candy, it was very good.(when you bite it, it has a spark in your mouth!!! But you probably know that already:/) But the story my natralist told me was diffrent because it was about Big Foot going to the moon and finding some moonrocks.(which were actually the piece of candy.) Nice Blog!!!

Dear Micheal,
I bet Outdoor Science School for you was fun. I've never been to Outdoor Science School so I don't know how it's like. I bet all the insects that you touched were slimy in there own way. I wish I went to Outdoor Science School with you guys, but I just didn't get to . I bet you had a great week! ( I figured out you had a great week because of all the clues you posted about Hiking and holding the newts ext. )
Sincerely,
Wasi

Hi Michael!

I enjoys a LOT at Outdoor School:
1. The all day hike. I became part of the Hard Core Club. During lunch, our naturalist, Sycamore, said, " Here's today's lunch. IF I heard ANY interruptions, I will start my explanation in today's lunch AGAIN. Today for lunch, we have sunflower butter, which is like peanut butter..." "What is that?" Someone yelled. Sycamore: "Today for lunch, we have sunflower butter..." ~Everyone giggles~ Someone says," Stop it guys! We want our lunch!" (that was an interruption) Sycamore: "Today for lunch, we have sunflower butter..." When we were at the very end, someone interrupt. "Today for lunch, we have sunflower butter..." Oh my. Took us more than an hour to get over THAT.
2. Wood Cookies! I finished sanding my wood cookie and I wrote "I <3 C K" on it ( C. K. is camp koinonia). I wear it everyday, it's just that sometimes I tuck it in my sweater.
3. Cabin Time. I love our cabin people and I always wake up 6 in the morning. I cannot go back to sleep so I just lay there for a whole hour and listen to people snoring.
I have more but it will take up too much space.

Nice Post!

I had a lot of fun at outdoor school. I also enjoyed hiking. My favorite hike was the challenge trail. The challenge hike was my favorite because there were a lot of obstacles, such as the stream, and fallen branches. The second hike I enjoyed most was Newt paradise because our naturalist let us play near the stream. We went to three streams, and it was funny watching 1 person fall into each stream.

Great post, Michael!

I had a BUNCH of fun at outdoor school. Our cabin leader and naturalist was really nice. I saw lots of newts and banana slugs. The scenery was SPECTACULAR! OMG it was beautiful. I also really liked the ropes course it was really challenging and fun( by the way Ms. Regosin what were you saying to me on the ropes course?) Our naturalist gave us some glow candy to except she told us her friend had found this alien in the ice and so they dug it up but the ice around the alien glowed and she gave us a piece saying it was the ice. One last thing...... OUTDOOR SCHOOL WAS AWESOME!!!

Looks like you had a fun time at Outdoor School. I enjoyed Outdoor School too! I saw many of the things you saw too! So I guess your naturalist's name is Kite. My naturalist's name is Sassafras. The Nike Hike to me was quite scary. My group went on the Wishing Tree trail. There were so many steps on the path! Also the end of our line on the trail was separated from the front, but luckily our Sassafras notice the line. The rope course was awesome! I love falling on the rope! Overall I had a great time!

I have a few questions for you:

1. What does the bat poo tates like?

2. Did you see a few spider's nest on a hike?

Dear Micheal, Nice blog about outdoor school, I even enjoyed outdoor scchool because of the hiking, the good food, some part of campfire, ropes course and the games that we played. I liked the ropes course because of the thrill that you are in the air and if you fall down it feels like you are actualy falling down. The food tasted like you were in a real restraunt because of the choices and taste. Nice blog post- Shrirang

Outdoor school was AWESOME! The rock that you ate was a mint life savers. They glow when you eat one. Our naturalist told a different story of where he saw a bear, a snake and something else. Then it was actually rocks and sticks. There is a fungus that if you cut it open, there is yellow stuff inside. Get a quartz and a pentlandite rock. Strike the two rocks on the inside of the fungus and it will create a fire for about 30 minutes. You can burn stuff with a piece of ice the shape of a sphere, too.

Michael,

I also had a lot of fun at outdoor school. What was the solo hike? I think my group didn't do that. Our group ate "banana slug/newt eggs." The challenge hike was my favorite hike in the whole four days. I was at the front so I got to help find the easiest way up. Another one of my favorite parts was playing at the creek. My cabin leader, Willow, was very good at doing rock tattoos. The trick is to use a stick. The story Mud told us was about a pirate. -Dolphin

Did you kiss a banana slug at camp? I didn't. So you really ate bat poo, or did I just read that wrong? Did you find a newt at Rattlesnake Creek? I didn't.
Did your wish come true yet? Mine hasn't.

Be seeying ya,

Cool, I heard of that candy. The story I heard was different. Huckleberry said her friend went to the Antartica and he saw a big lump of ice. They used ice picks to pick at it to see what was trapped in it. They saw an alien that glowed.

Yes, I had a lot of fun at outdoor school. I got to try redwood sorrel and a plant called union leaf or something. We found lots of banana slugs and newts. Did you know that baby newts have gills? I didn't know until we got to outdoor school. We found some edible mushrooms, and when Sycamore ate them for dinner (a morell mushroom, I think) he said it tasted good. Nice post Michael!
