Chinese New Year- By Eric Wu

Hi everybody! Did you guys know that Chinese New Year was last
Thursday? On Chinese New Year, my family likes to celebrate it by eating
a Chinese dish called a “hotpot”. Some of you might know what it is. My
mom makes it by making a giant pot of soup. Then, she puts a bunch of
random foods that we like. It tastes delicious. After dinner, our mom then
gives us a “red pocket”. Many of you know what they are. You put money
into them and then give it to someone. I don’t who invented it, but I would
like to shake hands with the person who came up with the idea. Do you
celebrate Chinese New Year? If so, what do you do to celebrate? Please
share!

The Dangers of Facebook- By Shrila

Hey guys! How many of you have Facebook accounts? A lot, right? Well, you might think that Facebook is really safe, just like G-mail or something right? Well Facebook isn't as safe as it might seem. Have you ever thought about what you post or comment on it? You should think about that for a second. Do you realize, that anything that you post on Facebook can be seen by your friends, you friend's friends, their friend's friend's, and so on! If you say *anything* personal about yourself, people will know things about you that you don't want to know. I don't mean to scare you or anything, but just look at the facts! Imagine if you say something like..."Hello! Can someone tell me what is for H.W? I am in Room 24 in Murdock-Portal by the way." Yes, you only said that information because people will need to know what H.W you have, but do you know how much other people can find out by that information? If I was your friend's, friend's, friend's, friend's, friend's,... friend's friend, you probably have no idea who I am. Even though you don't know me, I could still see that comment you posted. Pretend I am a really bad person (I REALLY AM NOT THOUGH!!! =P ), and I read that comment. I now know your name, (your ID) the school you go to , and the classroom you are in. I can easily find out who you are. All I have to do, is go to your school, ask for your name, and I could just take you away to some place. This blog is not just to make you scared and worried. It is to warn you about what you should and shouldn't type on websites on Facebook. I am not saying that having an account is wrong, because I have an account myself! But I never chat on that account, and I never post any information about myself on the wall. The main reason I have an account, is just to play games! All I am saying, is that you should be careful on what you say on Facebook. I hope you don't get scared by this blog! Do you have a Facebook account? Do you realize that some of the stuff you say on Facebook might be too much information?  If you don't have an account, what do you think about that website?

That's the blog! Hope you like it! =P
