Don’t Eat at Fast Food Restaurants!

Pull open the glass door and feel the rush of cool air. Step inside. Look at the color pictures of food above the counter, look at the cardboard advertisement for the latest Disney movie, get in line, and place your order. Hand over some money. Put the change back in your pocket. Watch teenagers in blue-and-gold uniforms busy working in the kitchen. Moments later, grab the plastic tray with your food, find an empty table, and sit down. Unwrap the burger, squirt ketchup on the fries, stick the plastic straw through the hole in the lid of your drink. Pick up the burger and dig in.

The whole experience of eating at a fast-food restaurant has become so familiar, so routine, that we take it for granted. It has become just another habit, like brushing your teeth before bed. We do it without even thinking about it — and that’s the problem. The
food you eat enters your body and literally becomes part of you. It helps determine whether you’ll be short or tall, weak or strong, thin or fat. It helps determine whether you will enjoy a long, healthy life or die young. Food is of fundamental importance. So why is it that most people don’t think about fast food and don’t know much about it? The simple answer is this: the companies that sell fast food don’t want you to think about it. They don’t want you to know where it comes from and how it’s made. They just want you to buy it.
50% of kids are obese because of fast food. French fries at fast food restaurants have “partially hydrogenated” oils in them. Don’t let an advertisement guide you around. You are the one deciding if you are taking the hard way of living where you eat junk food and like a shorter and unhealthy life, or if you want to have a healthy life where you can live happy and longer with no problems. Eating fast food restaurants can cause serious diseases and cancer. They contain many calories in meals. Even one meal can really bother your health. That’s how unhealthy fast food restaurants have. And we should now stop eating it.

Just think about all the oil and fat you’ll be eating once you open a new bought bag of junk food. Does it tastes well? What does it taste like? It tastes good, right? Well, it might taste better than regular food. That’s because hey have flavors added to the food. It’s not real food. That’s why most foods are cheap. Even some expensive ones have artificial flavors in them. It’s not real! It may look real, but the real ingredient is this: Junk! Just save your money! Cook your own food would be much better! You don’t even need money to buy them!Many and most places have chemicals in food that make them look real, but they are actually fake. Don’t count places like subway as your choice of junk food. That’s healthy. You have the choice for many vegetables and healthy things. But the drink and bag of chips may not be very healthy. Some foods are rotten and were put into chemicals to make them look yummy. Eating fast food can really turn you into an obese person. 50% of kids are obese because of fast food. Just don’t do it the simple way if it’s just the bad things that will get into your body.
  • Pack your own lunch at school. Hot lunch may have expired food
  • At home, don’t go to any fast food restaurants you know that has bad food
  • Eat less oils, meat, poultry, and sweets
  • Stay healthy!
After this passage, I will probably think you will not eat any more fast food restaurants. Search on the internet, read books about it, or even look in the magazine about fast foods. At the library, check out the video called Food Inc. It tells all about how you need to stay healthy and all those bad food products at many fast food restaurants.

I have ate junk food before but I don't feel sick. I don't go to fast foods not too much because 1. tables are dirty 2. I like my moms cooking. I still might eat junk food because my mom might be too tired to cook for my family so my dad takes us outside to eat. Sometimes on a road trip we look for an fast food restaurants like in and out to eat. Though I hope I don't eat much of fast food restaurants now.

Heyy Annie! :D I actually eat junk food SOMETIMES! Probably like once every 1 1/2 months or so. I once ate the tater tots and school one day and it gave me a really BAD tummy ache that day. I guess it was expired like you said. I am planning to stop junk food because I am already pretty obese so yeah. Also, I am SO NOT IN THE MOOD of getting MORE obese. Mhmm. Mmk(: Btw,

Great post, Annie. I don't really eat a lot of junk food. I might eat a bag of chips once in a while. After reading your blog, I will be careful of the foods you eat. It is probaly just a coincidence, but even so, today for lunch, I got a burger and some fries from Burger King. Now that you have written this blog, I probaly won't be eating Burger King in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. But despite your warnings, I probaly will keep eating junk food. I will just make sure that I eat it like, once every few months.

I never eat a lot of junk food. Junk food has never made me feel sick. I will continue eating junk food though. On long car trips,I usually will eat junk food because its convient. I eat junk food just on car trips. I eat junk food once every two months on average. I believe we should not cease eating at a fast- food resuant at once, we should just go there once in a long while. If we just stay healthy most of the time, one in a long while would hurt; we should stay healthy basiclyy all of the time.

I have to admit that I also do eat fast food some times on Friday or on the weekends. It is true you actually do get sooooo used to it that it will start feeling like a routine. But I seriously didn't know that subway or In-and-Out was really that bad. Like I mean Mrs. Yu(Last year room 24 teacher) said that In-and-Out was really healthy compared to some of the other fast food restaurants. Even I really trust that place because I hve seen there potato grater in the kitchens.

If you've been to In and Out, you'll see that their French fries are healthier than other fast food restaurants. That's because their French fries are freshly cooked without oil or preservatives. You know how McDonald's French fries have a lot of preservatives? They can last for-- **gasp** 1,000,000,000 !!!! Okay, maybe not that long, but still very long. Nice post Annie!

I usually do not eat junk food, but when I was young I use to visit fast food restaurants a lot. I do like Chipotle and Subway restaurants. I always pick a healthy vegetarian meal there. Whenever, I eat French fries, I do not feel good the rest of the day. I agree that frozen packed food have unhealthy chemicals. Even at school the meal should be made healthier. It should be cooked with fresh vegetables and should have fruits, milk and freshly baked food. At home also, my parents should build healthy eating habits for my sister and I. Our government should take action at the unhealthy fast food restaurants. If all these things are done, I think, we all would be eating only healthy food.

I have to admit, I like some junk food, but I don't eat it all the time. Like for fast food restaurants, I REALLY don't like them. McDonald, Burger King, places like that. They are so unhealthy, and the food doesn't even taste good! I always try my best to stay healthy, but sometimes I might just eat some unhealthy things now and then. :)

I uasualy eat at fast food restraunts once every month or even twice I like going to subways because you get whatever yopu want in the bread particuly the veggies. I like the veggies alot because they are yummy. I usually basically get smooties or mcflurry because there are yummy but I shouldn't. All in all you made me realize that eating junk food is not good. I don't know if In 'n out burger is a fast food restaurant but, I really like the food, especially the fries. I also like McDonalds even though some people say it's bad for you. I like to eat junk food sometimes for example hotdogs and cheeseburgers.

I like eating at fast food restraunts but I don't eat at places like Burger King or McDonald's often. Sometimes when I go to Burger King, after I finish eating, my tummy feels sick. Since I don't eat out often, I don't see any harm in eating at fast food retraunts. I go out to eat on average about once every two months for special occasoins like birthdays. I do know that eating out too much is bad, but sometimes, when you are on the run, it could be helpful.

I have eaten some junk food but I never really enjoy it. Junk food has never made me really sick but sometimes I get dizzy or feel sick.I might not eat anymore junk food it depends if its sorta healthy I might eat it if its like fries and is bad for your body might never.

I like junk food because it tastes good. Most junk food are oily. In-n-Out burger is the most healthiest fast food out of all. I don't eat it a lot but I still eat it.

Yes, I did eat junk food. In fact, I eat a ton of junk food. I didn't get sick. I liked it so much I wanted to eat at fast food restaurant every day.

Hi Room 24!
It's nice to hear that most of you don't eat junk food EVERYDAY. If you are one of the people that eat a huge lot of junk food, you better watch out because when you get older, you might get diabeties. Diabeties is a desease caused by the amount of junk and sugar that makes your blood pressure VERY HIGH. Beware of that because you might not want hose because you would have a lot of pain; the least amount of pain is a whole bunch of thumbtacks/pins stuck up your foot (ouch!) Beware and stay healthy!
