The Moon Festival By: Clara Y.

Did  you do anything for the moon festival? If you did, how did you  celebrate it?  If you didn't, is
there any festival that you celebrated  that is close to this time?  How did you celebrate your festival?

Hey everyone! A few days ago, it was a crispy clear Autumn night.  The
moon was as round as a big bouncing ball.  That night, my parents went  outside
to see the moon and set up a table and chairs in our backyard.   They told my
brother  and I to come outside to watch the moon.  I saw a big and bright moon
and I also saw a shining planet a few miles away  from the moon.  It was
Jupiter.  We celebrated the moon festival.  My mom offered us moon cakes and
some tea.   I sipped delicate tea and tried different kinds of moon cakes.  It
was  so good!  My dad started to tell us ancient Chinese stories about the
moon.  It was  really fun watching the moon and listening to the lovely and
touching story about the queen who flew to the moon.  It was getting cold
outside so we went back in.  There are three major Chinese festivals.  Chinese
New Year, Lantern Festival, and the Moon Festival.  They are all really fun so I
can't wait for the next festival, Chinese New Year!  Did  you do anything for
the moon festival? If you did, how did you  celebrate it?  If you didn't, is
there any festival that you celebrated  that is close to this time?  How did you
celebrate your festival? Please tell us!

I celebrate the festival by putting on glow in a dark sticks and going outside with my sister watching the moon glow and playing a little while, it was fun. The moon glowed so brightly and when we went inside my mom gave us strawberry mooncakes. It was delicious.

Like you, I went out and watched the moon. Everyone who never celebrated the moon festival would have said it was boring but it can actully be fun staring at the bright moon, looking for the lady, and searching for the shadow of a rabbit.
My family went outside to look at the moon and ate moon cakes. After about five minutes, we went inside again because it was so cold.

I have celebrated the moon festival by having a family gathering. My cousins played with lanterns while I played with fire on candles by adding leaves to the candles (safely). I also put a candle in a candle. I didn't eat any moon cakes since I am not fond of them because they look weird and taste weird. The moon was pretty round that night.

I like the moon festival. I like the mooncakes that looks like a swirl. It tastes as great as candy. It's very colorful too. I celebrate moon festival by inviting friends and family to our house and eat mooncakes. We watch the moon festival on TV too.

I don't celebrate The Moon Festival but the celebration close to The Moon Festival is called a celebration called Eid. Eid is a holiday for Muslims. On Eid day, I woke up really early and dressed up after eating breakfast. We have to wake up early because we have early Eid prayers. After the Eid prayer, we went to a festival the place where we prayed. At the festival, I ate so many doughnuts! I got a goody bag and a stamp on my hand. Since one of my brothers friend helps in serving the cotton candy, I got it for free without waiting in the huge line!! Another person gave me popcorn without waiting in the big line. After we were done with that festival, we had to go home and make my brother lunch because he went to school that day. After that, we had to pick up some kids from Portal because we carpool with some kids. After that, we went to another festival and I had lots of fun there. We had lunch there and I hanged out with one of my friends. After that festival, we went home for three hours and we had to go to another party. We got dressed up to go to the party and stayed there till 11:15. All in all, it was a really fun day!! Nice post Clara!! :)

I celebrated the moon festival in the dark with my friends. Instead of lanterns, we used glowsticks. We had super long ones which were simply glowsticks only three times the length. We played tag using those. After that we ate mooncakes. That is how I celebrated the moon festival.

I did not celebrate the moon festival but there was an Indian festival that celebrates a god called Ganesh. He is god with a human
body and elephant head. That was the only recent festival for us.

I celebrate the moon festival by eating mooncakes for breakfast, after school, and for dessert. Man, was it delicous. I went to a party. Over at the party, they sell ice cream, soda, hats, necklace, and bakugan and more! It was really fun. They also perform ballet, dancing tai kwong do,kung fu,and more. I was in the kung fu section. I did cool moves. It was really fun. I also study the moon. I figured out that every moon festival has a full moon. When we had to go home, my family forgot where we park the car. I had to tell them where it was.

We celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. On the festival we offer sweets to a god named Ganesh because he removes all of our obstacles. His name means *remover of obstacles.*we offer him modaks just like people eat chocolate.

During the Moon Festival, I just went to my cousins house to eat some mooncakes, drink tea, play the computer, and have a HUGE BBQ.
The mooncakes we ate were the Lotus type and the Lotus type with egg yolk in it.<-[my favorite type!] The bad thing is that we forgot to go and see the moon! *sigh* Hope I don't forget next year:)

I did prayers to a god named Ganesha who is a god with and elephant head. My dad told me and my sister the story about the Moon God, Chandra and Ganesha. If you don't do that, and look up at the moon bad things will happen to you. That is the festival I celebrated.

I didn't celebrate the moon festival, but at my after school we got to eat moon cakes. Also, the day we left for China, my dad took me outside to see the moon. It was super big, even though it was a few days after the moon festival.
