Have you been to Europe? If not, have you gone to any other foreign country? Was there anything very different from California?

Germany- By Joshua Wong
My dad is in Aachen, Germany on a business trip. He tells me that it is always dark, cloudy, and drizzling, even now in the summer. If you are from California , you will miss California ’s sunny weather. Next, the fruits in Germany don’t taste as good as here in California. The people there have a lot of canned fruits. The Germans don’t have as much fresh fruits as we do. They also seem to eat a lot of potatoes. In addition, things in Germany are very expensive. For example, a Big Mac meal costs 5 euros which is about $6.50 USD. Last, , most of the shops are closed on Sundays. And on Saturdays, most shops close at 7 o’clock .

nice blog joshua.my mom went to switzerland, london and scotland for a buisness trip also.
I have not been to Europe but I want to. I want to go to Europe because I can ride a Ferris Wheel and do all the other fun things. A foreign country I have been to is Taiwan. It is very crowed and hot during the summer. There are some things that are different in Taiwan. Most of the houses are all apartments. My grandma lives in one. The shopping malls are glittery at night. There is one building that is 101 floors tall! It is a shopping mall, a food court, and you could bring your pet there. In California, some shops don't allow pets to go inside. But Taiwan does. I would love to go there again!
Nice Post Joshua!
I have never been to Europe and the only foreign country I have been to is Taiwan because that is the country that my parents lived in when they were children. Taiwan is very hot and it is hotter than California, but one thing I like to do in Taiwan is that in Taiwan the malls always have air conditioning and it is really cold so I like to stand outside for one second and then rush back inside for one second and then rush back outside for one second and rush back in for one second. It always feels really good because it really hot then really cold. About 30 taiwanese dollars equals one U.S. dollar. My dad is going to Taiwan this Saturday for a business trip. There are 9 major cities in Taiwan.
I have been to a foreign country before. I have been to India. India is very different from California. India is different in many ways. First, the shops in India were a lot smaller than stores in California some stores are larger than the stores here. The difference of money is also there, since 45 rupee is 1 dollar in America. Anyways I have never been to Europe. (But we might go next year)!
A foreign place that I went to is Honk Kong it's very different that like like people in Germany like most shops close on sunday right but in Honk Kong theres lots of people coming in and out the stores theres so many stores that some people have to open stalls outside????The restraunts in Honk Kong are always opening at varius times. SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!!
So all in all Honk Kong has lots of people!!!!!!!!!!
Do you miss your dad? It seems that Germany is an interesting place to visit. I love eating fruits. But I'm not so sure about eating canned fruit. Do you think it would taste good? What does a Big Meal taste like. It sounds very delicious. I think I would love to visit Germany. And of course eat a Big Meal!
I went to Mexico. Everybody there speaks spanish but not my family and I. Since we don't speak spanish we don't understand a single thing they say. I slept in a hotel. It got lots of fighting games. Man, was it fun. Sitting on the plane was WICKED!!!!
Do you think your dad is in pain? He must be sad. Very sad. Do you think a Big Mac in Europe is a lot? Doy miss your dad? What is the shopping mall or is it all of the malls?
No I did not go to Europe but I have some questions for you like why do they eat a lot of potatoes and why doesn't the food there don't taste as good as California? The Big Mac sounds delicious I wish I could go there to eat.
I haven't been to Europe, but I have been to a different country. I have been to India before. It is totally different from California. In the summer there, it is really rainy. In India, it is also dirty and noisy. One time, I went on a train ride to Goa, India and there was so much trash along the tracks!!! I couldn't belive it!!! Sometimes in the night, I couldn't sleep because of all of the honking from the cars. Some cool things about India is that you can find fruits that you can never get in California!!! For example, there is the custard apple and targula (ice apple) There is way more, but I don't know them all. And finally, in India, when you go to a beach, The water is warm and the sand is really soft. In California, the water on the beaches are freezing cold. Califonia and India are both awesome!!!
When I was going to India me and my family stopped in Singapore to meet a friend of my dad's. We went for sightseeing in sentosa island park, Jurang park, and Botanic Garden(they have very beautiful orchids). Singapore is a tropical country and is really humid all the time. Singapore has lots of fashion malls. It has very big airport. Merlion is the national symbol of Singapore.
f.y.i. -> click on my name to see merlion.
I have been to Europe before. I've been to France, Singapore, Mexico, and England (where I was born). England has a time zone that is 8 hours ahead of the East Coast of America. The weather is usually cold, windy and wet in fall, spring and winter. In the summertime it is about 80 degrees. They use pounds instead of dollars and they call pennies, pence.
It is very expensive in Europe to eat at restaurants and buy clothes.
Singapore is very humid because it's near the equator.
NICE POST JOSHUA!!!!!!!!!! :)
Like many other people, I haven't been to Euorope but my dad went there for collage or something. I have been to many places like Utah, Nevada,Oregon, Washington, Victoria, Vancouver, (both in Canada), Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, Iowa, China, Singapore, and Korea. { I think I forgot a few.} Like Aishwarya, I have been to Singapore. I went to everywhere she went except the Botanic Gardens but I also went to places she didn't go to. My favorite was Sentosa because there was this cool thing called Desperados. { See Lynn's blog}. You know the huge picture of the Merlion in Aishwarya's comment(?), I went to the tippy top! It was really cool because I got to see most of Singspore.
The only foreign country I've been to is India. One thing that makes California different from India is the crops. Indians have different crops which Americans haven't even heard of and vice versa. In India it is usually hotter than in America. One big difference is the traffic. Everyone shares the same lane even cows!
I have not been to Europe but I have been to India. It is very hot in the summer but cold in the winter. The most of the shops and restaurants are open all days. The restaurants are open till late night. The food is very fresh and tasty.
I have been to Europe because England is in Europe.
I've also been to France, Singapore and Mexico.
England Has different time zone that is 8 hours ahead of California. Instead of using dollars and pennies they use pounds and pence. English people usually have stairs in their houses. France uses euros instead of dollars. In France they have the Eiffel Tower. I have also been on the Singapore Flyer and the London Eye, which are both big Ferris wheels in the city! Did you know that the Singapore Flyer is the biggest in the world.
My dad went to not only Germany, but 9 other contries too!He went to Holland,Switzerland,Belgium,France
Luxembourg,England,Austria,Italy,
Vatican City and Liechtenstein, and Monaco. He studied in France. He visited the rest.My mom did not go to Europe, but she went to Singapore and Indonesia.
I visited two foreign countries in 2008. I have been to India many times but 2008 was special. I visited the most beautiful mountains on the earth, the Kashmir Mountains. I went to snow-capped mountain in a cable car and then went further up on a horse. I also went on a boathouse on Dal Lake. I stayed in a hotel that used to be the palace of the king of Srinagar. The hotel had many paintings and statues. The entire valley was full on colorful flowers. Rivers and streams were everywhere.
On our way to India, we stopped in Paris. I saw Eiffel Tower. It was amazing to see it lighted in the night. We had to wait there till 10:00 PM because sunset happens very late in Europe in the summers. I saw world famous museums in Paris too.
My mom wants to bring us to Europe. She went to England before with her friends. My mom also brought us to Japan, Taiwan and Canada. Japan is really interesting. We stayed in a traditional spring hotel. Inside the hotel we slept in a tatami bed. We enjoyed the hot spring. There was an indoor and outdoor spring pool. I like the outdoor spring pool better because there was fresh air and the view was beautiful. We also visited some temples. We saw a traditional wedding ceremony in a temple. Taiwan is definetly hot in summer. We ate shaved ice almost everyday. We ate so much that one of my friends in Taiwan asked if we came here to eat shaved ice or to come here to vist my grandma. Canada is also amazing. We went to the Rocky Mountains and we had ice cream in the highest cafe. We also went to a glacier that the ice was everywhere. You could see tiny bits of water in the cracks that you could drink. The water was definetly cold. The tour guide said you could drink the water. It would make you look 10 years younger. I didn't believe him and I was right. I didn't look ten years younger. I think he was just trying to convince us the water was fresh enough to drink. Even if I didn't look younger the water tasted fresh and good. All the places we visited were very interesting.
Last week and this week my dad went on a business trip to Taiwan(I think for the third time already!). I hope he comes back this week so I can see him again. A foreign country that I have been to is China. There is an occasional bad smell, but it is okay.
Thank you everyone for posting on my blog! It means a lot to me.
