A Comeback?

Did you know that every year, about 10,000 to 100,000 animal species die off? When a species dies off, it is known to be extinct, which means that it is never coming back. Until now…
We now possess the knowledge, power, and technology to bring back some extinct species. In order to bring back a species, scientists need the DNA, which is the genetic make-up of that animal. This doesn’t mean that we are all going to be eaten by Tyrannosaurus Rex! Researchers can only use the DNA from more recent species that have gone extinct because older DNA is no longer accessible in the fossils. For example, Australian scientists are on the verge of bringing back the gastric brooding frog.
There are many different opinions about whether or not extinct species should be brought back to life. On one hand, it would be neat to bring a species back, but there are also many concerns. One concern is how a species would adapt to its new environmental habitat in modern times. Secondly, many environmentalists worry that people won’t care about animals if we can bring them back so easily once they are gone.
I personally think we should not bring extinct species back because I agree with the environmentalists. I also think some of the animals might be dangerous and don’t belong in our modern world. We shouldn’t tamper with nature; we need to be responsible and take care of our Earth the first time around. Where do you stand on this issue? Looking forward to your comments!

Hey Aum,
Nice blog. I never knew that scientists are going to be able to bring back extinct animal species. I can't deecide which side I want to be on. Bringing back extinct animals may restore some food chains. But as you said, I wonder if the animals can adapt to the new conditions. Anyway, cool blog!

Oh wow, Aum! I love, your blog! I really, really want to see how a dinosaur can be on Earth when humans are alive. But the only this, will we get eaten by a T-Rex?. Well I hope not. Nice informational blog Aum. I'm not sure what side I should choose. For one part is that I want to bring back recent extinct animals because without animals, nature would lose more of its animal population. For example, if the deer went extinct, there would be less food for the meat eaters. But then if we brought back tigers, they could eat us.

Amazing job Aum, I had no idea that scientists were thinking of bringing back extinct animals! I think that I stand on the same side as you and not bringing back other animals because they may not adapt or something might not happen correctly and they could do something unthinkably wrong. Great blog! Your blog was very interesting. I never thought that extinct species can be brought back. I think it is not a good idea to bring back the species because some of those animals could be dangerous.

Nice blog! If scientists need to protect endangered wildlife, they should do it, and I agree with Aum. We shouldn't revive extinct animals until endangered animals have been protected, or else the endangered animals will have more predators, but don't you think these animals died because of 'survival of the fittest'?

really nice blog i never knew DNA is much valuable, but i think it would be nice to bring back those animals so scientists can take a closer look at them and see what habitat the need and what food. The only problem is they could die at the same time.
