Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?
Well....when I grow up I want to be a orthodontist. An orthodontist is like a dentist but deals with more complicated teeth situations. I first got interest of being an orthodontist when ….................
I
first had teeth problems, so I went to an orthodontist office. The
doctor’s name was Dr. Kinoshita. He was very friendly. He asked my
family to get x-rays on my teeth to see what was going on with my teeth.
After Dr. Kinoshita got the x-rays, he said that a baby molar tooth
was stuck in my gums and could not get out because an adult molar was
blocking it. So this is what happened. I first got retainers but then
my orthodontist saw that it shifted my front teeth not my molars, so
they got rid of my retainers. Then I went through an extraction on my
top left canine tooth so they can do a procedure called ankylosis.
Ankylosis is when they extract a tooth and then put it back into your
gum again so it will fuse to the bone. They did the procedure on
me, so I could get braces. The canine was successfully being used as
an anchor tooth to move the molar. The braces was for moving the adult
molar tooth out of the baby tooths way so the baby tooth can come out.
After the braces, I got retainers again to keep my teeth in place. Now
the problem is that the baby tooth is not coming out. So now they are
going to do surgery to cut my gum and get the baby tooth out. This
surgery I think is going to be around Thanksgiving this
year.............and now I am very nervous about it!
I
want to be an orthodontist because this situation made me very
interested with the things Dr. Kinoshita did with
my teeth. A few questions popped in my mind. How did he put on my
braces? Who does and make my retainers?.......................................
These are some questions that I should think about. This is why I
want to be an orthodontist when I grow up!

Wow! when I grow up I want to be a lawyer because I heard lawyers make a lot of money if they are good. I also like to argue and shout and when your a lawyer you do that a lot.

When I grow up, I want to be a scientist, studying minerals and the Periodic table of elements, because it is amazing to discover how all the things are made off. Your blog did include many details and I liked the way of your reasoning what you want to be when you grow up. I think an orthodontist is a nice profession to choose when you grow up.

Hi Caroline,
I had no idea what an orthodontist was until you told me. I couldn't read your entire post because I was having problems with either my computer or the site, so I don't know why you want to be one. I also can't tell you about your post, so I'll just tell you about what I want to be when I grow up. I want to be something that has to do with nature or writing because I really like both of them. I'm not so sure why I like nature, but I like books because it is so easy to get lost in a really interesting story. Maybe I can be a book-writer that writes about nature.

I never knew that you wanted to be an orthodontist. I never knew what an orthodontist until you told me about it so I guess you want to be the type of people when you grow up to take good care of people. And of course everybody can guess what I want to be when i grow up and if you guessed that I wanted to play basketball when I grow up you are correct specifically the NBA but anyways nice post caroline.
I am not sure what I want to be when I grow up but there are a couple jobs that I want to be. I would like to be an electrical engineer, a buisness man, a representative of a large comapany, etc. I am hoping to choose before i'm 11 or 12. Being an orthodontist also seems like a lot of fun. Have fun being an orthodontist!

When I grow up, I want to be a librarian. I love books and get pretty well with little children. I first got interested of being a librarian was a long time ago when I started to read. I loved reading since then and wanted to be a librarian.

Hey Caroline,
I think being an orthodontist can be fun. I would like to be a scientist or doctor when I grow up. What would be your second choice of what you want to be when you grow up? I have never been to the orthodontist before, but I have been to the dentist many times before. Every time I go to the dentist, I get a toothbrush or something like that. Did your orthodontist give you anything? I like the title Your Future Career. You did a good job on your blog!

When I grow up I want to be either a veterinarian or a doctor because I like animals and helping people. Don't be scared of your surgery. My sister got a surgery like your going to. She said that it wasn't that bad. Anyway terrific blog.

I love working with aquatic animals. My favorite animal is the dolphin because they are soft and gentle.
I don't want to be an orthodontist because they do pretty disgusting things. I want to be a author because they write such awesome books, I want to do the same.

I did not know that you wanted to be a tooth doctor. It sounds fun. The dentist you talked about seemed really nice. I would like him for a tooth doctor. You have to do a lot of steps to get that mole tooth out. But the most thing i am worried about is the surgery. I had it and it is painful! I don't want to worry you so i will end this right now. When i grow up i don't know what i am going to be. I have not thought about it yet. Well that is all i can think about to talk about so...... BYE!!!!!!!!!!

Great Post Caroline!!! I want to be a biologist when I grow up. My friend is nature and I try to protect it. Many animals are being killed these days but should not be ( especially endangered animals). An orthodontist sounds really cool because you can use those awesome tools to help people. Is the process painful?! But still nice blog!!!

Great blog, by the way. When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian because I love working with animals. That is great that you've had lots of experience with your orthodontist. I mean, I bet no one would want to be an orthodontist if they hadn't seen what a great job it is by going there themselves.
There is nothing to worry about when they get the tooth out. Good Luck!

When I grow up, I want to be an professional tennis player or a programmer. I like programming because it is really fun and I like tennis because I have been doing it FOREVER and have gotten pretty good at it.

Your speech, well blog, says a lot that you want be a tooth doctor. One thing that i want to say is that must be boring going through all those steps to trying to get the mole tooth out. Sorry that i did not use that fancy word that means tooth doctor. At school tomorrow can you tell me it and please pronounce it right. I hate when someone is trying to say a word and they pronounce it wrong. Are you actually going to do surgery. It hurts like when someone screams in your ear for your whole life while there punching and kicking you. But if you go on sleeping gas then you wont feel a thing. But i do not want to scare you so i will end this conversation right now. The answer to your question is a scientist. I always wanted to make cool stuff out of lots different materials, and especially the chemical reactions. It is so cool! Well that's it. That was a pretty long talk that we had there so bye!
