A Trip to California Academy of Sciences By: Akash

Do you like science?  Well if you do, then California Academy of Sciences is the place for you.  In this place you can learn lots of science.  There are many exhibits, such as the Albino Alligator exhibit.  This alligator has white skin but it is blind.  The museum has put fish, two other alligators, and a few turtles along with the albino alligator.  There will be one or two people standing there telling you about this reptile.
Another exhibit is the rainforest.  It displays butterflies, birds, plants such as Venus flytrap, fishes, frogs, chameleons, snakes, etc.  The rainforest is in a big dome in the middle of the building.  It has multiple floors that tell you about the different levels in the rainforest.   The bottom floor gives you the feeling that you are on the bottom floor of the rainforest.  In the second floor, you can see a lake filled with fish, and there are descriptions of butterflies.  In the canopy, you can see birds, butterflies, frogs, etc.
Every time I go there, something new happens.  One time, they had an incubator full of chicken eggs.  We even got to see a chick hatch!  Also, another time there was a man made snake filled with lots and lots of wires.  The snake was huge!  They made it with lots of little scales.  While you are there, don’t forget to visit the planetarium and the aquarium.  I highly recommend visiting the California Academy of Sciences.

I love science a lot. Now that you told me about California Academy of Science I really want to go. I've never ever seen an alligator that is blind with my own eyes before. I'm going to ask my mom if we can go because I love science. How much is the price to go. I wish at chabot would have all of these stuff. Then it would be awesome.
Great Job!

Dear Akash,
I bet your trip to the California Academy of Science was awesome! The exhibits sound really fun to me. I personally would like the Rain forest exhibit because it is really cool to be in an indoor rain forest. That man made snake you were talking about also sounds pretty cool (the scales part). What's your favorite exhibit?

Hi Akash!

Seems like you saw a lot of things in CA Academy of Sciences. Well, I don't exactly like science (well that's because there is almost no subject I like). We've been there twice already for field trips. I saw the huge white alligator. We couldn't go to the planetarium because we didn't have time. When we went to the rainforest, I was taking pictures of butterflies until my camera battery died. IT WAS THE MOST "BADDEST" TIME IT COULD DO THAT. On the second trip, we couldn't go to the rainforest. I liked the bouncing water (though it wasn't actually bouncing). In that part, everyone was putting their hand in front of the water sprayer thing (even me and I got WET). I know I don't like science but this play was pretty cool.

And the aquarium DID NOT have a crab V.v.V see that crab, it wants to pinch you for not putting it inside the aquarium :D

Nice Post :D

Dear Akash,

The California Academy of Science sounded fun and exciting! I have/had a pet Venus flytrap. I think it died because I always forget to water it. I am not even sure if it is dead, but I still sometimes water it. :) Right now, I see no new sprouts. I would love to go to the Science Center one day!

Sincerely,
Yvonne

I have been to the California Academy of Sciences. My favorite exhibit is the rainforest. It just feels so relaxing! I also like the alligators. It's fun to guess which is the alligator and which ones are just other stuff. Great post Akash!

I also went there! I have been there twice! Ones two years ago and last year as our last field trip. So cool! Speaching of cool did you go to the Artic exibit? I was playing jeopardy and I got to pet a reindeer! At first, I was a little scared petting a huge reindeer! Its back looks like it is five feet across! It is so big that a baby could sleep on it! Maybe even I could sleep on it! I loved the my visit at CAS(California Acedemy of Sciences)and I'm pretty sure you enjoyed it to.

I've went to the California Academy of Sciences before. My favorite parts are the rainforest exhibit, and a snake show. In the rainforest exhibit, I like seeing what I would see in a rainforest. My mom is really scared of bugs and she freaked out when a butterfly landed on her. (T_T, O_o). My mom also doesn't like snakes (she is basically scared of every animal besides a cat, or dog), but I thought the performance was very interesting. Anyways...

Nice post, Akash!

Akash,

I have fun in most kinds of science (especially the ones with experiments), but everything you mentioned sounds interesting. California Academy of Sciences must be a great place to visit. The rainforest part must be one of the better ones, because you get the feeling of the rainforest, and when you find a display, you're "discovering" something. Does this also happen in the planetarium, like you're on a "spacewalk"? That would be even better! The California Academy of Sciences sounds like a place I might want to go to someday.

I have been to California Academy of Sciences about three times. The first I went there, I was blown away by all the things they had over there. The whole time, my mind was, "wow! there is a ton of things that they have over here!" The first time I went there, I saw the chicken egg incubator, but not the man made snake. The second time I went there, I saw all the changes you talked about and more! I never knew the alligator was blind, and I also always that when the alligator and a turtle swim next to each other, I always thought that the alligator was going to eat the turtle, but now I know why the alligator didn't. The place also has a gift shop. In the gift shop, I saw that they had candies with gross animals embedded inside such as scorpions, ants, grasshoppers, and dragonflies. The gift shop owner said that she ate one with a scorpion inside. Gross, right?? I almost threw up when I saw them!
That is all I could say.
GREAT POST, AKASH!!!

Dear Akash, I have gone to the California Acadamy of Sciences before and saw what you talked about like the snake the aquarium and other things. You will go to the academy next school year as a field trip. When I went there with my dad, my dad bought me and my brother a wrist watch. My dad even bought a lamp which was said to clean some of the ground or table, I don't know. Nice blog Akash!!

I have been to the California Academy of Sciences three times already. The second time was the best since the first was a free day, so it was very crowded. For the third time, the rainforest was closed for renovation and my field trip group was not allowed into the planetarium since our teacher did not make any reservations. But during the second trip there, the part I enjoyed the most was the rainforest. I liked to see the butterflies and other plants. I also liked the planetarium show. It was about the Big Dipper and all those stars. I have enjoyed my visits to the California Academy of Sciences and I hope to go there again.

your trip sounded very interesting. I've been to the academy of sciences but I really didn't get to do much. The rain forest thing was cool and there were lots of pretty butterflies. I think the academy was cool but I didn't join to the field trip my sister said that the rain forest was closed exactly on that day haha for her.
