Happy New Year!

Have you ever stayed up in till 12:00 on New years eve? I have!!!! A couple of years ago, we had a New Years eve Party. My family invited lots of friends, and family. The house was full of people. I went to sleep at 1:00 and my brother and his friends stayed up until 3:00 am playing Wii or PS2.
We had a count down from 10..9..8..7...6...5...4...3...2...1 HAPPY NEW YEAR! At 12:00 everyone started to pull the party poppers.The party poppers made a HUGE mess! There was a bunch of food at the tables. My favorite desert was the.....CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!! Did you know that the first country to celebrate new Years is Kiribati in the Pacific Ocean? California is almost the last to celebrate. Have you ever been to a New years Party? If you have been to one or have had a party at home, please share.

Nice Post Collete! I have been to many New Year Party's and I also had a lot at my house. We invite around 20 people to my house. We only sleep around 3:00 at night. We eat and play. Then everyone would count done the last twenty seconds. After, we cut cake and pull the party poppers. The most fun part is when we have a dance party. Everyone would dance to music including all the adults! At the end my dad brings out the sleeping bags and then we watch a movie. I would say my New Year Party turns out to be a blast all the time!
Hey Collette! Happy New Year!:) Yes, I have been to a mini New Year Eve party. My cousins from L.A. came to my uncle's house and we had a countdown, apple cider, and FOOD!:) I had a lot of fun because we brought a lot of games there. Plus some movies! :P I stayed up till around 1:30 A.M.!

I have been to a New Years Party before. I did not celebrate New Years this year. I tried staying up, but I just slept at about 11:00P.M. In 2009we celebrated a party with four other families. We couted along with the countdown on television.

Happy New Year Collette yes I did have a countdoun before at someones house this year and I did have a party at my old home we had a lot of fun but when I came to the party I was late because before the party I was in the plane at San Franscico from where I came which was in boston so I came late and I was awake until 3:00 to 4:00 in the morning of Saturday so that was on Friday last week nice blog Collette by.
I stayed up till the countdown through I was real sleepy. I had just come back from vacation that day. I did nothing until the countdown. After the countdown I made canned soup then ate it. Then I went to bed at 12:20 pm. It was real boring. I wish I had some friends with me too.
I stayed up until 1:00 actually. I stayed at my friend's house with my cousin, and we played until 11:59:57 pm.3! 2! 1! Happy New Year! Everyone screamed and ran all over the room. My brother ripped off his shirt yelling wildly. It's awesome. When we came home, we slept. I woke up early because my throat was throbbing. I had to eat a lot of cough drops. Then my cousin called to come to AMC Theatres. I watched the movie Tron Legacy. We watched so much movies that we went of to go for dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. It was an awesome new years. Everyone, HAPPY 2011 NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!
I have never been to a New Years party nor have I ever had one at home. The closest we ever have to a celebration is a count down and then we stay u till like 2 or 3 P.M. doing boring stuff. So I guess you could say my New Years aren't very exciting.
I do not have any New Year party this year.Still,I saw the new years countdown.I also cut our New Year cake.It tasted awesome!Overall I liked this New Year.I blew a horn when it turn from 2010 to 2011.

I had a New Years Party. All of the parents played poker while the the children watched TV.It was at my cousin's grandma's house. I didn't do the countdown. The countdown is AWESOME!!! We forgot(awww).
I haven't missed even one year of celebrating new years! Every year, (it's almost like a tradition) we all go to one of our friends houses (it's the same house every year) and we play for a long time. Then we eat dinner. It's always a potluck so there are many different kinds of food made from everyone. It tastes really good! Then we all go and play some more. When it reaches around 11:53 or something, the parents call us all to the main room and we turn on the TV to the countdown. We all have so many different types of poppers! We all get ready, and when it gets down to the last 10 seconds, we all count down really loud. Then we shout "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!". It was really fun! That's pretty much how I spent my new years.
Every year around ten families go to someones house and stay till around 3:00. It has never been at my house but I like it because
I never have to clean up. There is a lot of fruit and other food. My favorite part is when Iwe do the countdown. I also have a great time with all my friends. We get to ask the dad in charge of music for any song like the Chicken dance
or the Macarana and then everyone even all our older siblings come dance. I really have a good time at all New Year Parties. We usually
have a countdown but this year we did not. We finished doing the chicken dance and at the end all of the parents started cheering and stuff and me and my friends were so confused. Then a parent came and wished us all Happy New Year and we all got it.

I never been to a new year party nor have I stayed up for long. I mostly stay up for about 1:00 and fall asleep. For my New Year's we stay home. HAPPY NEW YEAR'S ROOM 24
I usually go to a New Year's party on New Year's Eve. It is usually at my friend Henry's house. His house is so cool! He lives on a mountain and when you walk in your already on the second floor. I play video games for about two hours. I stop when my eyes hurt and I can't take it anymore which is when I play for at least two hours. Then I play with nerf guns or I watch some TV. Before 11:00 I usually read a book or something to pass the time. I go to sleep on New Year at about two to three because it takes about thirty minutes to go to his house from mine.
I've never had a New Year's party at my house.
I went to my church on New Year's Eve. My church had a potluck. Then, we went home for the countdown. I fell asleep at about 11:40. I was too tired. My parents recorded it for me and I watched the countdown on 1/1/11(January 1, 2011). I couldn't really hear what Dick Clark was saying. He has been counting down since Sunday, December 31, 1972. Dick Clark's real name is Richard Wagstaff Clark. He is 81 right now.

Last year, I went to my friend’s house for the New Year party. It started at 8:00 pm and ended at 1:00 am. Children played board games and made cakes out of clay. We had a dance and singing program where both children and adults participated. We also had a countdown 10…. 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3…. 2…. 1…. Happy New Year! After that, we lit firecrackers and went to our homes.

This year, I didn't go to any New Year party but my mom invited two families over and we did the countdown to 2011. Normally, we go to someone's house and we do the countdown. Then, when it turns January 1st, we celebrate one of our friend's birthday. We reach home by 2:00 am. It is a lot of fun.

I'm pretty sure that I have been to a couple of of New Years countdown parties. I like watching the large ball drop on television. One part I sort of don't like is that at zero in the countdown everyone gets so loud with party horns and other things. I didn't actually go to a party this year, though. I also missed a lot of the countdown because I was tired because my family just moved. I hope I don't miss next year's countdown.

No, I did not have a New Year party at my house, I did not even went to a New Year party. I slept at 1:00 in the morning. The only thing I did was play computer until 1:00 in the morning.
I went to my friends house on the last day of 2010. We played video games until midnight. We started to count down with the TV. After we said happy new year, we played video games again. Then I went home when it was almost1 o'clock a.m.
I have never been to a New years party. On New Years Eve my dad went to bed early and my mom was watching Chinese Drama(I think that is what it is called). So my sister and I played computer and DS. I think I stayed up to about 11:45. According to my sister, she stayed up to 12:00. I went to bed early because I had a headache. The headache was what got me to go to sleep. When I got to my parent's room(yes there is a reason why I am there), I fell asleep.
The largest New Year Party I ever had was when we invited my teenage friends over to my house. We had a blast while playing Wii Play. I think my favorite part was the dessert. We ate dinner at 7:00 but we ate dessert at 12:00. We didn't have any party poppers, but the food was awesome! we had roasted duck, which takes an hour to prepare, big dumplings called bao zi, potstickers, which are dumplings with a dark brownish underside, and vegetables. For dessert, we had this delicious sesame roll with a darkish inside. There are two kinds of sesame rolls. One has whitish outside and a black inside. The other one was completely black. Both are heavily coated with sesame. Since the party was like three years ago, I can't remember if we had a countdown or not. Anyways, we had a blast. Nice post Collette!
I had a countdown when it was New Year's Eve. My family and I were so excited and stayed up until like 2:00 or something. It was really fun staying up. I heard some fireworks outside my house. My family and I played board games, watched some movies, and played the Wii. It was awesome!!! My parents called my grandma wishing them a Happy New Year too. But then, I got kind of tired so I went to sleep. I think this was the best fun I've ever had!

On New Year's Eve I didn't do much. Most of the day I was playing with my Christmas presents. Then I went to my friends house and partied for three hours. At around 9:00 me and my sister went back home. For the next three hours we watched T.V. and spent time with my family. But the best part was we had a huge dinner from P.F. Chang's. Then we had a big countdown. At the end we slept at 12:30.

Ive been to a lot of New Years parties My friend has a party every year and I go where we usually leave at 1:00 or so its really fun we get to play computer then eat then play more then leave its really fun I like the new year because it is a new year and I hope to have fun this year.

I didn't really do anything interesting for the new year. except I went to my cousins house which is the probably the boringist thing I ever did in my life and I went to my friends house and stayed up till 2 and then went back home but I went to the same dude's house but I had to go back home at like 11 so it wasn't really fun but I went on his mom's bed which is like 5 feet high and jumped down to his bed which was really bouncy which was only 1 feet high but my sister Lauren broke sometihng and we would'nt let her play so she tattletaled on us which was like the worse thing on Earth and for New Years I watched this really cool movie and I watched the count down but my dad made me go to sleep at 12:04 wich is the worsest ( I know it's not a word) thing on Earth. Great Blog Collete! This year I decided to stay up till midnight. In order to stay up so long I had to eat THREE bowls of ice cream so I could stay up sooooooo late. Did you watch the ABC Channel Official New Years Count Down. It was soooooo exciting. Also in New York they had a huge color ball that was supposed to be dropped down in the Times Square. In Las Vegas the people had a bunch of people sing on a stage to kill time. I personally had a HUGE feast and as midnight struck me and my family all screamed really loud and we all threw our pillows in the air. Then we caught our pillows and threw them at each other. We all slept till ten in the mourning at least. Finally when we all took up party poppers and had fun popping them at each other. For breakfast we made eggs sunny side up, cooked ham, orange juice, milk, sausages, cheese, bread, jam, butter, and finally we had cereal.
I had a New Years party at my house and it was really fun. First when our friends came over we had some snacks then after that we played WII. Then what we do traditionally is we dance at eleven o'clock or eleven thirty then when its twelve o'clock we tell everyone Happy New Year then after that we had dinner then we finished a movie that we were watching then I went right to sleep after the left our house

I had a new year party at somebody else's house, but it was so fun! we played a lot of games, watched a lot of tv, and slept at 3:00 in the morning.
This year we had a new year party at my family friends home. first, we played games. Then, my friends and I played the wii for four hours! We were playing wheel of fourtune. We counted down from 20-1 then everyone wished each other Happy New Year!After that we cut a new years ice cream cake.Anyways, I always enjoy my new year parties.
