FIFA World Cup
Did you know that the FIFA World Cup was the most watched sport event in history? The World cup is an interesting event and I watched it this year. Let me share some facts about it.
The World cup is a soccer championship in which every country in the world plays. It is hosted every four years and it is hosted by a different country each time.The first World cup was in Uruguay.The first World cup trophy shows FIFA president Jules Rimet on it. After Brazil took home the World cup in 1970, a new trophy was needed. An Italian sculptor named Silvio Gazzaniga created a new contemporary design but it featured “winged victory”. The country that won the most World cups so far is Brazil.The country that won the first World cup was Uruguay. Some of the best players ever to play in the World cup are Pele of Brazil, Diego Maradona of Argentina, Zinedine Zidane of France, and Ronaldo of Brazil.
This year the World cup was in South Africa. It was the first World cup to be hosted by an African country.This year Spain were the victors, Holland (or the Netherlands) were the runners-up, Germany came in third place, and Uruguay came in fourth place.

Ok! I like soccer. It's my favorite sport an I think it is one of my talents. I play for Santa Clara Sporting though the team if messing up. What I mean about that is that out team is choosing a new coach and I hope nothing will change and everything shall stay the same. I play for the attacking part, a forwarder. Usually when our team was loosing in the game, I would score some goals for them. We just had a tournament at Sacramento and we have lost NO games! We could have made to the Nor Cal finals, but we lost in the semifinals because one of our team parents bought us coffee and it got us all drunk. One of my good friends on the team is Ryan. I know that it is a boy's name, but it is actually a girl. She has long blond hair and once she got a cast! I like being with my soccer friends and I like playing for them. No matter what, I shall never quit this team.
A sporting event that I liked was the Vancouver Winter Olympics. There were many winter sports. My favorite sport was skiing since I like watching the people go rushing down the slope. I also like watching them ski in bad weather. This is the first time the Winter Olympics opening ceremony was indoors. There are many sports featured. Some examples include: Ice Hockey, Snowboarding, Figure Skating, Bobsleigh, and many more.
Hello Vivek my favorite sport is basketball.I like basketball because it is really exciting to see how the output comes out when you shoot.I even like soccer because of the leg movements youy could do basically anything you want with the soccer ball and you could even pass but not touch the ball with your hands.Rather than those two sports I like other sports such as batminton,wallball, tennis,football with no tackling and much much more sports.Anyway the most "BEST" sport in my oponion is basketball and soccer but I can not chose I think that basketball isw fun but soccer is even more fun so I cannot chose anyway awsome blog that is my favorite spoting event.
I'm not really interested in any sports. I do enjoy watching volleyball. I also enjoy watching basketball a little even though I'm terrible at it. Looking at your post I can tell you like soccer. I never watch soccer on TV. If I find out soccer is what I'm watching, I change the channel or clink, turn off the TV. Sorry to dissapoint you but I don't have any facts to share about another sporting event.
I really like watching gymnastics during the olympics. I like other sports too though. I also watched the FIFA World Cup. The games were sooooo exciting. I woke up early a lot just to watch the games. I wish USA had won. The men's team has never won but in 1930 they got third place.The women's team however have won twice in 1991 and again in 1999. I also liked watching the baseball games and so happy that the GIANTS WON THE WORLD SERIES. My dad keeps saying that the Texas Rangers are very good but I'm still not convinced.
Actually, I do not know any type of sport events. Mut since I read your blog, I feel like researching it up a bit. Nice blog!
I don't have a favorite sporting event but I like the Olympics. In the Olympics for 2008, I watched diving and volleyball. Some divers made huge splashes while others glided through the water. I also watch part of a World Cup game. I think it was Germany vs. Uruguay. I forgot who won though.
The fifa world cup is pretty intresting. Did you know that Spain won this year? Well I did. Anyway, nice post!
I enjoyed watching Ski Jump in the Winter Olympics. I like to see how far people go and it is really amazing the way they can go in mid air! This sport is a hard sport because you have to be able to balance in the air with your balancing skills. So, you should practice for years and years. Nice post Vivek!
Over the summer, I watched the Fifa World Cup. It was really cool. The one annoying thing was theat my brother was obsessed with Paul the octopus. My favorite sport is ice-skating. My favorite event was the Winter Olympics. I was really hoping to see the ice-skater Sasha Cohen in it, but she didn't make it in for this years's Olympics. I did watch the other people and the other events such as snowboarding and skiing.

I know a lot about tennis that I can tell you about. Tennis is a sport usually played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). The modern game of tennis originated in the United Kingdom in the late 19th century as "lawn tennis" which has heavy connections to various field games as well as to the ancient game of real tennis. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including people in wheelchairs. There are four Grand Slam tournaments the Australian Open played on hard courts, the French Open played on red clay courts, Wimbledon played on grass courts, and the US Open played also on hard courts.

My favorite sport is volleyball because it is really fun. My other favorite sport is badminton. I don't really like any other sport because they all seem pretty boring to me. Volleyball just makes me happy because most of the time I'm not really happy and I'm actually good at it. I practice with my sister almost everyday. When I play badminton I fell weird and happy at the same time. I don't know why. I am good at badminton too. I find volleyball really easy while other people find it hard. When I started playing volleyball I started out in an intermediate class because my sister was there too. I got the hang of it on my first try. I go to volleyball class on the weekends. On Saturday I go for two hours and on Sunday I go for four hours. I never really learned how to play badminton, but once when I was 6 almost 7 I went to my mom's badminton practice and I watched people hit this small birdie back and forth. I asked my mom if I could try and she said yes. So I tried and I missed and I tried and I missed and I tried and I missed. Then I got lucky and hit the birdie. I did not miss a birdie again during the practice.
I liked two events. One of them is the 2010 world series championship. Guess which team won?? The LAKERS<>><!!Guess who was MVP??(most valuable player)It was Kobe Bryant. He has a #24 jersey. Another sporting event I enjoyed was the Vancouver Olympics 2010. But sadly,Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luge slider died. I'm happy Apolo Ohno got a silver medal for 1500m speed skating race.
My favorite sport is Swimming, Volleyball, and Tennis. You must be thinking, Swimming isn't a sport. If you think of it, it kinda is! In Swimming, you move your legs and arms a lot! I am taking Swimming classes and hope to STILL continue(ahem mom!). In P.E., we started Volleyball! I really like Volleyball when you do a full game. You know, with the net and balls! I like Tennis too! I have never played it before but it looks really cool!
I don't really like soccer and I don't really watch soccer. I like to watch table tennis competitions though. The ball is really fast so I can't really see what is going on except for the people who are playing. Playing for fun is kind of easy but when you get into a competition, it is hard to win. I played once and it was really fun. Then, it was very tiring so I quit. My brother played too but then he had to do a ton of stuff because he is in high school. He quit also. Sorry but I don't really have facts about table tennis.

I don't know too many sporting events, but one pretty popular one that I know is the super bowl. The super bowl is the final two football teams facing off for the championship. One thing I notice a lot when the super bowl is taking place are the advertisements. I see a bunch of new ones every year. I think the main reason for that is because a lot of people watch the super bowl and the advertisers want people to see their advertisement. Anyways, back to the actual game. I'm pretty sure that the New Orleans Saints won last year. And that the Pittsburgh Steelers won the year before that. I myself don't play football so I don't know a lot about it. Another sport that has major sporting events is tennis. There are four major tennis events that take place every year. There is the Wimbledon open, the U.S. Open, the French open, and the Australian open. I usually watch like two of the four major championships. Tennis is probably my most favorite sport and I actually play it. One reason I like tennis is because it is a one on one or a two on two game. That way you can hit the ball very often. Tennis has changed a bit since it was created. One change I know of is that they used to use wooden rackets. Now they use titanium and other materials to make rackets. The FIFA World Cup is a sport thing, right? I've saw it if is about sports. I think they also have it on WII. I like sports when it is on snow. They trip and slide and do funny stuff I think.
I loved watching the FIFA world cup during the summer. My favorite sport though is tennis because you get a good exercise and it's really
fun when you hit a winner ( a shot which your opponent can't get. Though I wanted USA to win the World cup the finals was really exciting. The last goal by Spain was amazing and that goal decided the winner of the world cup. I can't wait till the next Olympics.
I don't really have a favorite sporting event but, I do like swimming! My favorite swimming styles are backstroke, butterfly and whip kick. I also like watching tennis and sometimes soccer (if there is nothing else good to watch). What else do I like?? Oh yes, I don't really like Karate but, I like competing in tournaments and getting silver or gold medals!!!!!!

I played on a soccer team before. I think that South Africa won the Fifa World Cup. I sometimes play soccer on the grass.
Hey Vivek!! I also watched the World Cup! It was soooooo exciting I spent all day moaning abouthow Netherlands had lost. I still remember how that spanish player got kicked really hard in the stomach. I'll say that is one heck of an injury. I really like soccer! In fact it's one of my favorite sports. I also like to watch the Olypics. My favorite thing in the Olympics was the marathon.
Last last year I watched the 2008 Summer Olympics. It was sooooooooooooooo cooooooooooooooool. The womens marathon runner was amazing. Some how she managed to place herself in a position about 1/5 of a mile ahead of all the others!

I like watching the Winter Olympics. I like to watch ice-skating and gymnastics. I can learn a lot of cool things from that ( I go to ice-skating and gymnastics too!). The professional ice-skating people look amazing! They do so many flips and turns. Just like the gymnastics people! They make everything look so hard yet graceful at the same time! I really enjoy watching the Winter Olympics!
I don't have and don't know any major sporting events by my favorite sport is probably basketball. I don't know why but I just like it. In the Winter I play on a basketball team and play games every Saturday. Since everyone in my team was pretty tall, we never lost except one time their was a WHOLE team filled with short people!!! We lost. We could'nt steal the ball from them. Otherwise, I never lost. My second favorite sportS are swimming and badminton. I use to play badminton since I was five and I'm OK at it. My dad is usually my teacher and he's REALLY good at it. When I was nine, I FINALLY learned how to smash the birdie, pick it up with my raquet from the floor, and lane it( I think that's how you say it.)The only reason I like swimming is because I feel like I'm flying underwater. But the only type of swimming I like is underwater swimming. What I like most doing in the water is diving and retreiving objects underwater. One I dropped my goggles (I can see fine without them) into my aunt's 14 feet pool. After it touched the bottom, I swam down their and picked it up. For some weird reason, I still enjoyed it even though ny head hurt for about three hours.
THE WINTER OLIMPIC GAMES! I like both the winter and the summer Olympic Games. They are really fun to watch. They both of my favorite sports like tennis, swimming, and skiing. I can’t believe that ski cross was the latest game added in the winter games! It is such a famous sport and it wasn’t in the Olympics for a long time. The Olympics got so famous they even made games about them for example: MARIO AND SONIC AT THE WINTER OLIMPIC GAMES. Well that’s all I know about the Olympics.

Ok, I like basketball. It's a teamwork game and it is a great exercise. The only trick I know is dribble the ball through one leg. It is so easy to do. First, you lift up your leg. Then, you dribble the ball under your leg (the one lifted up). That is why I like basketball.
